About Skerryvore

Skerryvore Asset Management (Skerryvore) is based in Edinburgh and is an independent investment partnership established in 2019 with BennBridge, an investment firm based in London. Skerryvore is an Appointed Representative of BennBridge.

We are emerging markets specialists whose aim is to generate superior returns for our clients by focussing on the quality of the businesses in which we invest on their behalf. We believe in managing clients’ money as we would our own and aligning our interests with our clients. We currently manage US$1.2 billion in assets for our global client base across a range of fund vehicles and segregated mandate accounts.

Skerryvore is embarking on an exciting new phase in its evolution, and we are seeking to build our own operations capability in Edinburgh to support the business as we move forward.

Position Summary

We have an excellent opportunity for Investment Operations Analysts to join our new team in Edinburgh. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who are experienced within the investment management sector in a broad range of activities covering; trade lifecycle management, reconciliations, fees and expenses, corporate actions, market management, operational due diligence, and client / fund on-boarding.

As an integral part of the Skerryvore team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operational support activities for the firm effectively, ensuring that deadlines are met, and issues resolved promptly You will be responsible for representing Skerryvore when consideration is given to the operational elements of controls audits, client due diligence events and client / fund on-boarding, and ensuring the successful operational on-going management of our clients and funds. You will also contribute and participate in any relevant governance committees such as Fair Valuation.

Core Skills

  • Good working knowledge of emerging markets, including market registrations and ongoing market registration management, proxy voting powers of attorney management, beneficial ownership disclosures and KYC.
  • Good working knowledge of a variety of fund vehicle structure such as UCITS, Australian Unit Trusts, US Collective Investment Trusts, and US Limited Partnerships.
  • Comprehensive understanding of and experience managing the end to end buy side trade flow process and associated systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of and experience managing T+1 reconciliations processes and associated systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of and experience processing corporate actions and managing double taxation treaty opportunities.
  • Good working knowledge of and experience with fair valuation processes, operational due diligence events and systems and controls audits.
  • Good understanding of the concepts of fund swing pricing / anti-dilution levy and experience managing reviews of thresholds and factors and liaising with administrators.
  • Good working knowledge of the client / fund investment guideline and breach management process and experience managing and reporting trade errors.
  • Good understanding of and experience managing the operational requirements of client on-boarding projects.
  • Experience with the development and on-going maintenance of standard operating procedures.
