Skerryvore Asset Management (Skerryvore) is based in Edinburgh and is an independent investment partnership established in 2019 with BennBridge, an investment firm based in London. Skerryvore is an Appointed Representative of BennBridge.

We are emerging markets specialists whose aim is to generate superior returns for our clients by focussing on the quality of the businesses in which we invest on their behalf. We believe in managing clients’ money as we would our own and aligning our interests with our clients. We currently manage US$1.2 billion in assets for our global client base across a range of fund vehicles and segregated client mandates.

Skerryvore is embarking on an exciting new phase in its evolution, and we are seeking to build our own operations capability in Edinburgh to support the business as we move forward.

Position Summary

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Risk Manager to join our team in Edinburgh. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced candidates within the investment management sector. Working closely alongside Skerryvore’ s Chief Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for managing the daily pre-trade and post-trade investment and market risk monitoring activities and producing management information for relevant risk and governance forums. You will also have a key role in the firm’s enterprise risk framework, covering all aspects of risk such as prudential, regulatory, counterparty, credit, sustainability, and operational risk, and will participate in client and consultant due diligence events.

Core Skills

  • Good working knowledge of a variety of fund vehicle structures such as UCITS, Australian Unit Trusts, US Collective Investment Trusts, and US Limited Partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of the key risk and performance metrics and monitoring parameters associated with equity related securities and experience presenting risk analytics to senior business stakeholders.
  • Good working knowledge of fund/ client mandate on-boarding in relation to documentation review, investment compliance rule development and implementation and identification of key risk data requirements.
  • Experienced in managing the pre and post trade investment and market monitoring processes and escalation and resolution of issues and investment limit breaches.
  • Good experience of managing the investment risk framework (including sustainability risk), producing the investment risk analyses, and co-ordinating and chairing the Investment Risk Committee.
  • Good understanding of and experience in the development and roll out of operational risk and control testing and the delivery of annual risk and control assessments.
  • Good understanding of and experience managing new and ongoing vendor due diligence of critical third parties and reporting to the relevant governance forums.
  • Experience of participating in client and consultant due diligence events • Good knowledge of ICARA and the ability to assist with the annual ICARA process.

  • Proficient at manipulating and interpreting ESG data sets.
